Terms of Use
Version 2026-09-30. Written for Weflyn. You do not need an account, and you can read these pages without knowing how the site works. This is a working draft for product launch — not a substitute for a lawyer. Have Utah / US counsel review before you treat it as final.
What this is
Weflyn is a website for local music. A person creates an account and a public profile. Username is how they appear. An @ is the unique name used in links. They may add a photo and About text.
They can post Clips. A Clip is a posted video that may run from a brief moment to a full song, or a still photo. Clips can appear on a person’s page and in a public local feed.
They can follow bands and send private messages to people they are friends with. They can find or list nights. A night is a gathering this site also calls a show.
It does not run events, check IDs at the door, or guarantee that people are who they say they are. You can read these pages without using the site. They are a working draft for launch. A Utah / U.S. lawyer still needs to review them before they are treated as final.
Agreement
By creating a Weflyn account, clicking accept, or using any part of the service (including browsing without an account where allowed), you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Community & safety rules. Together they are the agreement between you and Weflyn’s operator about the service.
If you do not agree, do not use Weflyn. Using a checkbox, acceptance screen, or continued use after we notify you of a material update means you accept the version then shown. If you are accepting on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are their parent or legal guardian and have authority to bind them.
Our purpose
Weflyn exists to help local music communities find each other — musicians, bands, and fans sharing Clips, nights, and real-world scene energy. Public venue pages are not publicly offered at launch; they may return when real rooms are ready. A DIY night is a gathering a band listed itself, such as a house, backyard, or park; those listings still work without a venue page. Weflyn does not run, staff, or insure that night. These Terms exist so everyone understands the rules, the risks, and what Weflyn can and cannot do for you.
Important warnings
Please read this section carefully. Weflyn is an online platform. We do not run, supervise, insure, or guarantee in-person events, practices, house shows, DIY nights, venue bookings, or private meetups arranged through the service.
Other users may lie about who they are, their age, their intentions, or a listing. We do not conduct background checks, identity verification, or criminal-history screening on users by default. Listings, messages, profiles, and clips are largely user-generated and may be wrong, incomplete, offensive, or dangerous.
Meeting people from the internet and attending nights — especially at private homes, backyards, parks, or unfamiliar places — carries real risks including injury, theft, property damage, harassment, sexual assault, fraud, and death. You are responsible for your own decisions, conduct, and safety. Tell a trusted adult your plans if you are under 18. Leave immediately if something feels wrong. Call emergency services (911 in the U.S.) for immediate danger — do not wait on the app alone.
By using Weflyn you acknowledge these warnings and agree to the assumption-of-risk, disclaimer, and limitation-of-liability sections below.
Who can use Weflyn
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Accounts for anyone under 13 are not allowed. We do not knowingly keep accounts for people under 13. If we learn an account is under 13, we may delete it and related data as allowed by law.
Marking I'm going, meaning marking that you plan to attend a night, hosting DIY nights, and other agreements to be somewhere in person require you to be at least 16. Joining a band lineup or accepting a lineup invite requires you to be at least 13, because a lineup is the list of who is confirmed as playing in a band and is not an agreement to attend anything. Both require the safety acknowledgment shown at the time.
Ages 13–17 are minors under many laws. Minors may browse, post clips, and be listed in a band lineup from 13+, but must not use going or hosting features until 16+.
Parents and guardians of minors who use Weflyn are responsible for supervising the minor’s online activity and any offline plans. Weflyn is not a substitute for parental oversight.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated where the product allows. You may not create an account if you are barred from using the service under applicable law or a prior enforcement action.
Your account
Keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you promptly tell us it was compromised. Do not share accounts. Do not impersonate another person, band, venue, or organization. Do not take over pages you are not authorized to manage.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our Community & safety rules, or applicable law; that pose a safety risk; or that harm the service or other users. We may do so with or without prior notice when harm is urgent.
Not an event host or venue operator
Weflyn lists nights, profiles, and scene information. It does not host, produce, run, insure, police, staff, secure, or verify in-person events, venues, practices, or meetups. DIY nights, house shows, backyard gatherings, park events, and similar listings happen at places and with people Weflyn does not control. Public venue pages are not publicly offered at launch.
Hosts, bands, venues, and attendees — not Weflyn — are solely responsible for permission to use a space; compliance with local laws (including zoning, noise, fire, capacity, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, and age rules); crowd management; medical response; security; and everything that happens on site.
Listings can be wrong, cancelled, duplicated, unsafe, or fraudulent. Ticket links, addresses, times, and lineups may change without our knowledge. Weflyn does not sell tickets or hold ticket money in the current product. You attend or host at your own risk.
Assumption of risk
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all risks arising from your use of Weflyn and from any in-person interaction, travel, or event connected to the service — whether hosted by another user, a venue, or yourself — including risks of personal injury, illness, death, emotional distress, property damage, theft, assault, harassment, and financial loss.
You release Weflyn and its operators, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from claims and damages arising from such risks, except where a release is prohibited by law or where we caused harm through our own gross negligence or willful misconduct to the extent such limitation is not permitted.
This section is intended to make clear that Weflyn is a listing and community tool for local music — not an event organizer, security company, or guarantor of safe outcomes.
No background checks
Weflyn does not routinely verify identities, ages beyond self-reported date of birth, criminal records, sex-offender status, or the truth of user profiles, messages, or listings. A profile, friendship, band membership, or message thread is not an endorsement, vetting, or guarantee of safety.
You must use your own judgment before meeting anyone, sharing personal information, going to a private location, or relying on a listing.
Hosts, venues, and age-restricted nights
If you list or manage a night, you represent that you have authority and permission to use the place; that your listing is truthful; and that you will comply with applicable laws. You must set honest age, entry, ticket, and alcohol notes and update or cancel the listing if plans change.
Weflyn does not check IDs at the door, sell alcohol, or enforce venue house rules for you. If a night is 21+, all-ages, BYOB, dry, or otherwise restricted, you — not Weflyn — are responsible for enforcement on site.
DIY hosting on Weflyn requires a published band, at least two confirmed members, current Terms acceptance, host age eligibility, and an explicit host safety acknowledgment. Those gates reduce solo bait listings; they do not make a night safe or legal by themselves.
User content
Profiles, bios, Clips, comments, messages, show details, flyers, and other posts are user-generated content. Weflyn does not author, edit, or guarantee that user content is true, safe, lawful, or appropriate.
An Artist page is a public page for someone who plays music. It is separate from their person profile and is not a rank. Posting Clips or tracks on an Artist page requires a short one-time application. Staff can revoke that permission. That application is not a background check.
You retain ownership of content you post, subject to the license below. You represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or others’ rights.
You grant Weflyn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify for technical purposes (such as transcoding or thumbnails), display, perform, distribute, and promote that content as needed to operate, improve, and market the service. This license continues for content already shared or distributed as needed for backups, legal compliance, and dispute resolution, even after you delete content or close your account, to the extent permitted by law.
We may remove, restrict, or refuse content that violates these Terms, our Community & safety rules, or applicable law — including without prior notice when harm is urgent. We are not obligated to monitor all content.
Music and recordings
Music on Artist pages, tracks, and audio in Clips is user-uploaded. Post only recordings you made or have the rights to share. Do not upload other people’s commercial tracks, rips, stems you are not licensed to distribute, or cover recordings of songs you did not write unless you have the necessary rights and Weflyn has applicable licenses.
We may remove infringing material, disable access, and terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. See our Copyright page for DMCA notice instructions.
Friends, messages, and band chat
Direct messages are text only, and only after both people accept a friend request. There are no photo or file attachments. Weflyn is not a confidential counseling, legal, medical, or emergency service.
People 18 or older cannot send a friend request to anyone under 18. A shared band lineup is not an exception if the younger person is under 16. At 16 or 17, a shared confirmed lineup can allow that request, because those people already share band chat. A person under 18 may still send a friend request to an adult. The product does not tell the requester the other person’s age.
Messages may be stored on our systems and visible to platform staff when reviewing safety reports, abuse, legal process, or technical support. Band chat may use server-side encryption and recipient-scoped storage; that is not end-to-end encryption and does not make messages invisible to Weflyn or immune from lawful disclosure.
Bands may keep shared notes (Board) and open needs (Asks) for lineup members. Those are stored so members who join later can still read them. They are not end-to-end encrypted.
We do not guarantee that messages are delivered, read, retained forever, or free from interception on your device or network. Do not use Weflyn to send passwords, financial account numbers, government IDs, or other highly sensitive secrets.
You are responsible for what you send. Do not use messages to harass, threaten, groom minors, scam, share illegal content, or arrange harmful in-person meetings.
Prohibited use and zero tolerance
You may not use Weflyn to: harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate; discriminate or target people based on protected characteristics in a way that violates law or creates a hostile environment; scam, defraud, or phish; dox or publish others’ private information without permission; bait people to fake, unsafe, or nonexistent nights; exploit or endanger minors; solicit or distribute child sexual abuse material (zero tolerance); distribute non-consensual intimate imagery; incite violence; sell illegal goods or services; or commit other crimes.
You may not attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data; scrape or harvest data in abusive ways; reverse engineer the service except where law allows; interfere with operation; or circumvent safety, age, or access controls.
We may remove content, restrict features, preserve records, report to authorities, and cooperate with law enforcement when required or when we believe there is serious risk of harm.
Moderation, enforcement, and appeals
We may use automated filters, user reports, and staff review to enforce rules. Automated tools can be wrong. We do not promise perfect moderation, real-time review, or that every report will result in action.
Enforcement may include warnings, content removal, unpublishing nights, revoking Artist or upload privileges, restricting messaging, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination. We may act on reports about profiles, shows, clips, comments, or messages.
If we offer an appeal or clarification path in the product, use it in good faith. We may decline to reinstate content or accounts where risk remains.
Feedback and safety reports
Product Feedback is a short note to staff sent from inside the website. A safety report is separate: it flags a person, night, Clip, or message for harm. You grant Weflyn permission to use Feedback ideas without payment or attribution obligation.
Safety reports are reviewed by staff. We do not promise a particular outcome, response time, or that reporting replaces emergency services or law enforcement.
Third-party services and links
Weflyn may link to or embed third-party sites, maps, ticket sellers, payment tools, or media hosts. We do not control third parties. Their terms, privacy practices, and conduct apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for third-party products, fees, refunds, or failures.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WEFLYN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation; accurate listings; successful shows; compatibility with your device; or the conduct, identity, age, or safety of any user, host, venue, or guest.
Nothing on Weflyn is professional legal, medical, financial, or safety advice.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WEFLYN AND ITS OPERATORS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INJURIES, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, CRIME, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, OR DISPUTES ARISING FROM IN-PERSON MEETINGS, TRAVEL, DIY NIGHTS, THIRD-PARTY VENUES, OR OTHER USERS’ CONTENT OR CONDUCT.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID WEFLYN FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITS; IN THOSE PLACES OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED BY LAW.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Weflyn and its operators, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: your content; your listings or events; your interactions with other users; your misuse of the service; or your violation of these Terms, our Community & safety rules, or others’ rights.
Dispute resolution
Before filing a claim, contact us through Feedback with a short description so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
If informal resolution fails, except where prohibited by law or where you qualify for small-claims court, you and Weflyn agree that disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), not in a class, collective, or representative action. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could. Either party may seek temporary injunctive relief in court for intellectual property or unauthorized access.
YOU AND WEFLYN WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL OR TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Counsel should review this section for enforceability in Utah and other states before launch. If arbitration is not enforceable for a particular claim, the governing law and venue section below applies.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
Subject to the dispute resolution section, courts located in Utah have exclusive venue for disputes that may be heard in court, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Electronic communications
You consent to receive communications from us electronically (email, in-app notices, or posting on the service). You agree that electronic communications satisfy legal writing requirements where permitted.
Changes and termination
We may update these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or Community & safety rules. When changes are material we may require a new acceptance (version bump) before you post, host, or use certain features. The version date appears on legal pages and in the version archive.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service or features at any time. You may stop using Weflyn at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including licenses for content already distributed, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution, and governing law) survive termination.
General
If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your account without our consent. We may assign this agreement in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Community & safety rules are the entire agreement about the service between you and Weflyn regarding the subjects they cover.

Questions and legal notices: use in-app Feedback with a clear subject (Legal, Privacy, DMCA, or Safety). Counsel should publish a stable operator legal name, physical address, and email (for example legal@ and privacy@ domains) on this page before treating these documents as final.
